  7. organization to promote the use of the Internet for research and scholarly 
  8. communication and collaboration.

  10. The Society provides a forum for government, industry, educators and users 
  11. to debate and recommend technical standards and procedures for the global 
  12. Internet and private internets.
  13.  
  14. The Society seeks to advance open scholarship in all countries.

  18.   -  is governed by an elected Board of Trustees
  19.   -  seeks to encourage international scientific collaboration through
